Restaurant Name: Noriega’s
Location: Bakersfield CA
Cuisine Type: Basque
Appetizers: The Set-Up
Main Courses: Fried chicken and ribs
Drinks: Cheap house wine
Notes: Family style, passing dishes at a table with a ton of Basques. Had my mind running double overtime with work “crises” which don’t matter much in reality.
Restaurant Name: Red Scooter Deli
Location: Paso Robles, CA
Cuisine Type: Deli
Dined with: Myself
Main Courses: Lox bagel
Notes: Why don’t I order lox bagels more? They’re so nice and delicate. I need to start eating lighter flavored food….
Restaurant Name: Superior Seafood And Oyster Bar
Location: St. Charles Ave, New Orleans
Cuisine Type: Seafood
Main Courses: Salmon hash with egg, potatoes, and peppers. Some sort of dill cream sauce on top.
Drinks: Grand cru chardonnay (2013)
Notes: There is zero reason I never ate here before. Zero. Kind of expensive, but great food, loved the salmon on the hash, and a really great atmosphere and bar style. Saints were playing on tv.
Restaurant Name: Hong Kong Clay Pot
Location: Chinatown, San Francisco
Cuisine Type: Chinese
Appetizers: Pot stickers and wonton soup
Main Courses: Chicken, mushroom, and Chinese sausage clay pot with a side of white rice.
Drinks: Tsing Tao, red wine, and tea
Notes: Crazy packed. Huge chinese families everywhere. Incredibly tasty chicken, very tender with lots of onion, garlic, and ginger flavors. Sat next to nice guys at a gourmet olive oil and vinegar store conference. Shared some dishes with them. Rice never showed up!
